The Cascadilla School is located in the city of Ithaca in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York State, a four-hour drive from New York City. The Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport has direct connections from Detroit, Philadelphia, Newark, and New York (La Guardia) on Continental, Northwest, and US Airways. Direct connections beyond these cities include flights throughout the U. S., non-stop service to Asia, and other global destinations. United Airlines also offers connections from Ithaca to destinations around the world through an agreement with US Airways. Airports within about an hour’s drive of Ithaca include Syracuse, Binghamton, and Elmira.
From Binghamton, New York (1 hour drive):
Take Interstate 81 North to Exit 8. Then take Route 79 West into Ithaca.
From Buffalo, New York (3 hour drive):
Take the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) to Exit 41. Then take Route 318 East to Route 89 South into Ithaca.
From Boston Massachusetts (6 hour drive):
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90 West) into New York State, and continue on Interstate 90 (the New York State Thruway) to Exit 34A. Then follow Interstate 481 South to Interstate 81 South. Take exit 12 at Homer, then follow Route 281 South to Route 13 South into Ithaca.
OR
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90 West) to Interstate 88 West in New York. At Bainbridge take Route 206 West to Whitney Point. Then take Route 79 West into Ithaca.
From Elmira, New York (1 hour drive):
Take Route 13 North to Ithaca.
From New York City (4 hour drive):
Take Interstate 80 West to Interstate 380 West, then Interstate 81 North to Exit 8. Then take Route 79 West into Ithaca.
OR
Take the Palisades Parkway North to Route 6 West to Route 17 West. Then take Interstate 81 North to Exit 8, and follow Route 79 West into Ithaca.
From Philadelphia (4 ½ hour drive):
Take Interstate 276 West to the Northeast Extension or Route 9 North to I-81 North to Exit 8. Then follow Route 79 West into Ithaca.
From Syracuse, New York (1 hour drive):
Take Interstate 81 South to Exit 12. Then take exit 12 at Homer, and follow Route 281 South to Route 13 South into Ithaca.
From Toronto, Canada (4 hour drive):
Take the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) West to Route 190 (now in the US) to Route 290. Take Interstate 90 East to Exit 41 and then take Route 318 East to Route 89 South into Ithaca.
